The concept of a short stroke (2.5 mm) is effective in realistic black and white tattoos. When making this type of tattoo, in fact, it’s primarily used water, with only a minimal percentage of diluted ink in it. Therefore it is unnecessary to “push” a dense pigment under the skin, penetration may be reduced, permitting layering, as in a pencil drawing, without irritating the skin too much, allowing faster and better healing.
